Kurd’s tale of survival

Flight from Saddam and the violence after his overthrow leads to Elkhart.

Shad, a 30-year-old Kurdish woman from Iraq, has immigrated to the United States in hopes she can live without fear for the first time in her life.

Before the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003, Shad and her family were terrified of a regime seemingly bent on destroying the Kurdish population, she said.

Her family was forced from its home in Kirkuk and into hiding as thousands and thousands of Kurds were murdered, her grandmother among them.

I would like everybody know that Kurds were yezidi and they converted to Islam by force but the worst thing is that the Kurds know hate their ancestors yezidi and they like their new religion Islam by which they are mass graved and have been killed by muslims for 100 years .The kurds never been regarded as true muslims by muslim.
